About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a full-time permanent Team Leader for the Family Connect and Support Service based in Ultimo 2007 

The Team Leader will be responsible for;
  • Oversight the delivery of intake management as per intake procedures and processes and Barnardos policies, inclusive of case management of low-level referrals.
  • Provide timely and appropriate referral allocation to FCS intake workers and ensure service delivery is as per program specifications
  • Identify emerging issues around intake and low-level case management and provide regular feedback and reports about those issues to the Program Manager.
  • Ensuring the FCS intake workers’ workloads are appropriately managed.
  • Tracking referrals for closure and ensure all FCS employees are seeking timely feedback from clients.
  • Liaising closely with other Team Leaders to monitor the appropriateness of the intake referrals.
  • Liaise directly with other Team Leaders where there is need to escalate risks and/or transfer cases from intake team to the individual district team.
  • Attend regular team meetings in order to build relationship with other teams, as well as establishing knowledge of the local areas and needs.
  • Actively participate and liaise with local networks and external service providers to ensure clients are provided with up to date information of referral options.
  • Develop, as needed, referral protocols and processes with appropriate external agencies and key referrers.
About You
As a Team Leader, you will ideally have;
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Social Welfare related discipline
  • Previous experience in a team leadership role in the social care sector.
  • Demonstrated understanding of centralised intake systems and procedures and low-level case management.
  • Demonstrated experience in resolving conflict with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong networking and relationship building skills to engage, establish and maintain relationships with different stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience of working with children and young people and their family in a child protection context, including experience in undertaking comprehensive assessment
  • Excellent understanding of child protection issues and client vulnerabilities such as drug and alcohol use, domestic violence, unmanaged mental health issues, and the impact of trauma and the effect on child behaviour and development.

Salary: Base $84,860 to $97,630 per annum plus leave loading plus superannuation.  Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.
