About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a full-time permanent Team Leader for the Family Connect and Support Service based in Ultimo 2007.

The Team Leader will be responsible for;
  • Provide timely and appropriate referral allocation to FCS caseworkers (in accordance with their skills, experience) and ensure service delivery is as per program service specifications and Barnardos policy and procedure.
  • Track referrals for closure and ensure all FCS staff are seeking timely feedbacks from clients.
  • Monitor and supervise caseloads and casework practice through professional supervision, group supervision and debriefing.
  • Provide advice and direction to staff on complex cases and escalation of risk.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with external service providers (i.e. other Funded Service Providers and Government agencies).
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with local DCJ offices to encourage direct referrals.
  • Develop, as needed, referral protocols and processes with appropriate external agencies and key referrers.
  • Actively participate and liaise with South Eastern Sydney local networks and external service providers to ensure clients are provided with up to date information of referral options.
  • Monitor all administrative requirement for the allocated FCS caseworkers in accordance with required agency standard and funding agreement in a timely and efficient manner.  
About You
As a Team Leader, you will ideally have;
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Social Welfare related discipline
  • Previous experience in a similar team leadership role in the social care sector.
  • Demonstrated understanding of centralised intake systems and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in resolving conflict with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong networking and relationship building skills to engage and establish relationships with different stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience of working with children and young people and their family in a child protection context, including experience in undertaking comprehensive assessment.
  • Excellent understanding of child protection issues and client vulnerabilities such as drug and alcohol use, domestic violence, mental health issues, and the impact of trauma and the effect on child behaviour and development.

Salary: Base $84,860 to $94,440 per annum plus leave loading plus superannuation.  Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.
