Salary: $102,000 - $120,000 per annum
Our client is seeking a Team Leader for its Out of Home Care team in Inner Sydney.
The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving the best possible outcomes for Aboriginal children and young people placed in OOHC through the efficient and effective operational management of a highly functioning and well supported OOHC team including Caseworkers and wraparound services, in conjunction with the Program Manager.
Our Client considers being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational qualification as specified under section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
This role will involve;
- Provide leadership to a team of professional workers as allocated by the Program Manager
- Ensure compliance with legal and staff management frameworks
- Chair all referral meetings of children and young people to the organisation with Community Services in keeping with agreed protocols
- Maintain learning in relation to all legal requirements and changes to policy, practice and legislation that affects OOHC
- Attend all case conference meetings/placement disruption meetings and any other relevant meetings in relation to individual children/young people and or carers.
- Participate in the on-call roster that provides out of hours emergency support to carers
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures and ensure compliance with such policies in keeping with OCG standards of accreditation
- Be a strong advocate for the organisation and Aboriginal people, children and young people in the sector
They are looking for candidates with formal leadership experience within the social care sector
The requirements for this role include;
- Must identify as Aboriginal
- A degree in Social Work, Community Services or related field or five years equivalent work experience for those who do not hold a degree
- Possession of a current NSW Driver’s License – minimum P2
- A current Working with Children Check and National Police Check
- Must demonstrate formal leadership experience
- Knowledge of and experience working within child protection and Out of Home Care legislation and procedures
- Experience working with Aboriginal children and families
