Our client, a well-known community based organisation is seeking a Senior Caseworker to oversee a team of 5 caseworkers who provide high-quality service to children, young people and their families who are affected by mental illness. As a senior caseworker, you will be in a leadership position whilst maintaining a small caseload.
This role will involve;
- Lead and facilitate an effective team to provide practical and emotional support to children, young people, and families in the program.
- Foster collaboration with other agencies, mental health services, NGOs, and families to plan and coordinate services, and oversee caseworkers to implement effective Family Action Plans.
- Undertake client advocacy, problem-solving, case coordination, and reporting to minimize harm to clients and others.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager to build capacity, identify training needs of the team, and implement quality improvements in the case review process.
- Ensure comprehensive and quality client assessments are completed within required timeframes and funding requirements.
- Identify early signs of mental health issues and refer clients as appropriate to services and interventions that support people experiencing mental health issues and assist in building resilience.
The requirements for this role include;
- Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, Health or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience working with children and/or young people experiencing mental health issues + staff supervision or supporting experience in a case management environment.
- Extensive experience in delivering quality complex case work and evidence-based group work interventions in a cross-cultural setting
- Understanding of person-centred practice, risk assessment, and positive client outcome-based plans, as well as safe work practices and management of risk.
- Demonstrated experience leading a multi-disciplinary team
- Valid NSW Drivers Licence, registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance, Working with Children Check, and National Police Check.
