Scheduling/Dispatch/Rostering/Logistics Officer

Our Client, a specialised transport company offering transport solutions with in the community for aged, frail, and people with disabilities and their careers.
Is currently recruiting for an experienced Logistics Officer who also has experience in Scheduling/Dispatch/Rostering to join their team based in Homebush area .

About the role

You will a team player in this small but efficient scheduling team with an ability to think laterally and think on your feet with changing details. You will be a key part of dispatching, scheduling and managing communication with transport drivers throughout Sydney.
  • Schedule groups and individuals’ trips
  • Communicate constantly with drivers and services across Sydney and Inner West
  • Utilize technology-based systems to optimize efficiency
  • Communicate with field staff daily with changes in shifts, allocations or trips
  • Confirm status of fleet and field staff daily
  • Problem solve and coordinate resources, drivers and felt issues
  • Review drivers daily reports such as vehicle issues, incidents and risk and any concerns regarding customers
Required skills and experience
 
  • Current Driver’s license
  • Ability to work Monday – Friday (occasional on call weekend hours)
  • Demonstrated skills in rostering and problem solving
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to keep calm and communicate when changes occur
  • Some knowledge of the Sydney geographical area
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office and experience using any kind of data base systems
  • Experience with issues relating to the travel needs of people with diverse backgrounds, older people, people with disabilities and mental health
  • A drive to be accurate, concise and productive in a process driven role
Desirable but not essential
  • Experience in the transport or logistics industry an advantage
  • Experience with such systems as Routematch, Coach manager, TIMS
  • Ability to speak a second language

  • A number of probity checks are required including holding a current working with children and undertaking a National police checks.
