About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a full-time permanent Program Manager for the Contact, Transport and Support Program based in Bruce, 2617

The Program Manager will be responsible for;
  • Providing quality services to children and families using staff who are trained in behaviour management strategies, supervision of families and additional supports to children and their families. 
  • Being an effective conduit for communication with team members, ensuring that management decisions and messages are passed through to the team accurately and in a timely manner while also representing team views up through to senior management
  • Providing support, mentoring and coaching to all members of the team
  • Ensuring annual performance reviews are conducted and documented and that regular informal performance feedback is provided throughout the year
  • Managing program budgets effectively and provide management reports as required ensuring financial accountability of the agency operations is maintained
  • Developing and maintaining an appropriate knowledge base of local and interstate services and to work collaboratively and liaise with a network of other CARE providers - developing a sound knowledge of their role and function
  • Establishing evaluations and reviews of program practice and delivery and participate in the review and development of agency policy and practice
  
About You
As a Program Manageryou will ideally have;
  • Experience in the provision of protective support and service delivery to children and young people and their families.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide advice on complex case management matters/issues and to coach others who also provide such advice
  • Provide leadership through direct supervision, collaborative people management whilst supporting staff who are providing complex case management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of child development and the implications of abuse and trauma
  • Considerable knowledge of social, economic, health and cultural factors affecting client and family situations
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in working with families and promoting family-centred strength-based practices. 
  • Demonstrated experience in managing challenging behaviours when working with children
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality training programs, utilising multiple delivery methods, to a wide audience, in the field of children and young people at risk and the OOHC sector in general
  • Experience in performance management of staff in cases where they are not meeting required standards of competency, duty of care requirements, adherence to the values of the organisation or the specific policy and guidelines of the organisation
  • Experience in management of budgets and reporting

Salary: Base $98,784 to $118,983 per annum plus leave loading plus superannuation.  Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.

To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
