About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a full-time permanent Program Manager for the Carer Recruitment & Intake Team based in Homebush, NSW.

Please note interviews will take place on the 15th of November 2022.

The Program Manager will be responsible for;
  • Intake, triage, initial matching and ongoing management of NSW OOHC placement referrals.
  • Oversight of systems for monitoring, analyzing and reporting on all referrals, authorised carer capacity, and placements.
  • Establishing, develop and maintain effective communication and  working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Meeting Barnardos policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements, OCG standards and NSW legislative and compliance (NSW Carers Register) obligations.
  • Leading and supporting the centralised Carer Enquiry Team responsible for a coordinated and initial response to NSW and ACT Together carer enquiries.
  • Supporting carer recruitment activities (including compliance).
  • Providing systematic supervision, support, ongoing carer training and carer development opportunities for authorised carers and prospective adoptive parents managed by the Carer Recruitment and Intake Program.
  • Leading the development of employees within the program through supervision.
  • Providing timely and accurate monthly reporting to Manager, Carer Recruitment and Intake, and Executive Leader Children & Families.
About You
As a Program Manager, you will ideally have;
  • Tertiary degree level qualification in Social Work or a related discipline.
  • A demonstrated knowledge of current practices in OOHC in NSW
  • Practice knowledge and accrued specialist experience in OOHC related work; high level understanding of current child/young person placement referral systems; and, carer recruitment, training and assessment
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Carer Recruitment (or similar program) and OOHC Placement Referral Management.
  • Previous management or staff supervisory experience.
  • Experience in crisis driven environment.
  • Working knowledge of relevant NSW child protection and related legislation including Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection Act) 1998 (NSW) and Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Regulation 2012 (NSW); Adoption Act 2000 (NSW) and Adoption Regulation 2015 (NSW)

Salary: Base $98,784 to $118,983 per annum plus leave loading plus superannuation.  Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.

To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
