The Role
A permanent full time Program Manager is required for Carer Recruitment & Intake Team based at the Barnardos Centre in Ashfield, Sydney, NSW.  
Reporting to the Manager – Carer Recruitment & Intake, the Program Manager, Carer Recruitment & Intake responsible for the provision of high-quality programs for children, young people, their families and communities with respect to Barnardos Australia (BA) services. This position has primary responsibility for placement referral, intake/triage and initial placement matching for Barnardos OOHC NSW. The role has direct oversight of the centralised Carer Enquiry Team and also supports management of NSW authorised carer recruitment processes with respect to recruitment, enquiries, assessment, authorisation, and carer support. It contributes to BA leadership as a member of the Children & Families (C&F) Team and Carer Recruitment and Intake Management Team.

The Candidate
The successful Program Manager will ideally have:
  • Tertiary degree level qualification in Social Work or a related discipline.
  • A demonstrated knowledge of current practices in OOHC in NSW
  • Practice knowledge and accrued specialist experience in OOHC related work; high level understanding of current child/young person placement referral systems; and, carer recruitment, training and assessment
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Carer Recruitment (or similar program) and OOHC Placement Referral Management.
  • Previous management or staff supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of relevant NSW child protection and related legislation including Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection Act) 1998 (NSW) and Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Regulation 2012 (NSW); Adoption Act 2000 (NSW) and Adoption Regulation 2015 (NSW)

Additional info
To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number).
  
You will also need to have a current NSW driver license and have the availability to participate in carer recruitment or carer training activities (support role) as required after hours.
  
Salary
$94, 382 - $115, 056 base (including FBT packaging) + benefits + Super. Motor Vehicle packaging optional.
