About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a full-time permanent Case Manager for the Kinship Care Program based at the Barnardos Centre in Warrawong.  Reporting to the Program Manager, the Case Manager will be responsible for;
  • Delivering high quality Kinship Care casework and case management to statutory Kinship Carers and the children and young people placed in their care.
  • Undertake the role of primary support worker, developing a positive and respectful relationship with the Kincare family.
About You
To be successful in the Case Manager role, you will ideally have;
  • A degree (or tertiary qualification) in Social Work or a related area
  • Knowledge of issues surrounding abuse and neglect of children, and the impact of trauma on childhood development
  • Understanding of the case management requirements of the PSP/OOHC system
  • Understanding of the different support needs of relative and kinship carers to foster carers
  • Previous experience working in PSP/OOHC, child protection, or Intensive Family Support in a caseworker role
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to working with disadvantaged children and families in situations where additional support is needed
  • Ability to participate in after hour’s Kinship Care support services as required

Barnardos offers a base salary, plus leave loading, plus superannuation. Salary packaging is available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging is available on selected roles.

To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
