The Role
A permanent full time Intake Team Leader is required for Family Connect & Support Service based in Barnardos Sydney Metro Centre in Ultimo, Sydney. Please note locations can also be flexible (make contact for further information). 
  
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Intake Team Leader is responsible for leading the centralised intake team ensuring effective and responsive management of intake referrals, and appropriate allocation to individual district team.
  
The Intake Team Leader is also responsible for supporting Western Sydney FCS staff to deliver high quality of day to day services to vulnerable children, young people and their families to access local support services to prevent escalation of current vulnerabilities.


The Candidate
The successful Intake Team Leader will ideally have:
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Social Welfare related discipline
  • Previous experience in a team leadership role in the welfare sector.
  • Demonstrated understanding of centralised intake systems and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in resolving conflict with both internal and external stakeholders Strong networking and relationship building skills to engage, establish and maintain relationships with different stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience of working with children and young people and their family in a child protection context, including experience in undertaking comprehensive assessment
  • Excellent understanding of child protection issues and client vulnerabilities such as drug and alcohol use, domestic violence, unmanaged mental health issues, and the impact of trauma and the effect on child behaviour and development.
  • Excellent liaison, negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the needs of diverse communities such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD).

Additional info
To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number).
  
You will also need to have a current NSW driver license and demonstrated computer competence and experience of using electronic case management tools. You must also have access to your own vehicle. 
  
Salary
$86, 488 -$97, 194 base (including FBT packaging) + Super. Motor Vehicle packaging available.
