Our client is a well-respected organisation that specialises in providing Family Support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Families. They offer family preservation and Early Intervention services to children and families at risk of escalating within the child protection system or entering out-of-home care. Additionally, they provide out-of-home-care for children who cannot safely remain in the home.
They have an exciting opportunity available for a Targeted Early Intervention Caseworker to join the team in Pyrmont You will provide Early Intervention support to First Nations children and families to create safety and strengthen connection to prevent escalation in the child protection system.

This position is Aboriginal identified. To perform this role, it is essential that the person who holds the role be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.
This role will involve;
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of families to identify their strengths, needs, and risks
- Develop individualised case plans in collaboration with families to address their specific concerns and goals
- Provide ongoing support and intervention to families, utilising evidence-based strategies and interventions
- Assist families in developing and enhancing their parenting skills, improving family dynamics, and promoting positive child development
- Identify and assess potential risks to children's safety within the family
- Develop and implement safety plans in collaboration with families to ensure the well-being of children
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as other professionals, community services, and support networks, to ensure coordinated and holistic support for families
- Identify appropriate support services, resources, and programs to address the specific needs of families
- Make referrals to relevant community-based services, such as counseling, housing assistance, substance abuse programs, or parenting education, and ensure effective coordination between different service providers
- Tertiary qualifications in Community Services or related field
- Experience in Foster Care or Child Protection programs
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear and concise written material
- Understanding of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998
- NSW Driver's License and Working with Children Check
- A number of probity checks are required including holding a current working with children and undertaking a National police checks.
