Clinical Advisory Social Worker

Suicide remains the leading cause of death among young people. Do you want a role where you can help contribute and make a difference in the lives of young people who have been impacted by suicidal Ideation, suicide attempts and sever self-harm? This 3 year Pilot Program is looking for a motivated, passionate and experienced Social Worker!
Role: Clinical Advisory Social Worker
Location and Hours : we are flexible. Here are the options :
This can be a full time role based in Blacktown with some travel to Coffs OR part time 20 hours from Blacktown OR part time 20 hours from Coffs Harbour

The role:
  • Work with a team to advise on case loads , provide referral options and offer clinical perspective
  • Contribute to how this program is rolled out, working closely with the regional manager, team leaders and external stakeholders
  • Complete outreach visits and assessments with the team to offer clinical observation and clinical input
  • Develop and strengthen relationship with referring agencies and external stakeholders
  • Support a team who may themselves have lived experience with suicide and self-harm
  • A degree for this role is essential, ideally you are eligible or have AASW/ MH Social Worker accreditation
  • Experience working with children and young people is advantageous
  • Understanding of trauma is essential along with an understanding of self-harm, suicidal ideation and suicide prevention
  • A go-getter attitude to influencing change and working in a team
  • Strong communications skills and ability to manage up and manage peer to peer relationships
  • A current and valid WWCC
  • A current and valid Australian driving license
Additional information:
  • This is a permanent position
  • You will not be required to hold a case load
  • The team work with the young person for 6-12 months
  • This role would suit a Social Worker who would like to be part of an exciting pilot program who is able to roll their sleeves up and do the doing as well as coaching and mentoring other team members!
  • Benefit from monthly clinical supervision, external group reflection session and variety of training around trauma and suicide.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions to how the program will roll out, the Regional Manager you will report in to is a Leader who wants to hear you voice!
