The Role
Barnardos are looking for a full time permanent Caseworker within the Reconnect Program based at the Barnardos Youth Services in Belmore and Marrickville, Inner West of Sydney.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Reconnect Caseworker will be working with individual young people and their families, as well as developing links with other relevant organisations so as to support young people and their families to address issues relating to the young person’s leaving home.

The Reconnect Caseworker will be responsible for developing, implementing and reviewing individual case plans and providing appropriate support and intervention to young people and their families.

The Candidate
The successful Reconnect Caseworker will ideally have:
  • Experience and ability to work with young people, particularly young people from culturally diverse backgrounds
  • An understanding of culturally diverse communities and an ability to relate to and communicate with the families of young people
  • Ability to develop, implement and review individual case plans
  • Written communication skills, including report writing skills with maintenance of relevant client and program records
  • Competent computer skills using computer based client database along with online database knowledge
  • Ability to organise own workload and work with minimal supervision
  • Formal qualifications in Social Welfare or equivalent (desirable)
  • Counselling experience (desirable)

To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number).
  
You will need a valid NSW driving license and have access to a comprehensively insured motor vehicle. Some evening work is also required.

Salary
$67, 027 - $69, 547 base (including FBT packaging) + benefits + Super.
