About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a full-time permanent and a part time permanent 21hrs/ week Case Manager for the Transitional Accommodation Program based in Auburn, 2144

The Case Manager will be responsible for;
  • Deliver case management services to children, young people and families in accordance with service specifications and Barnardos policies, procedures and practice guidelines
  • Monitor child protection concerns, consult and act in accordance with the NSW Children and Young Person’s (Care and Protection) Act, Mandatory Reporter Guide and Barnardos Australia “Reporting Child Abuse” Policy
  • Undertake assessments of families referred to the program
  • Prepare, support and facilitate workshops to children, young people and parents
  • Participate and actively contribute to a strong outcome focused team
  • Foster a healthy and positive team culture aligned with Barnardos vision and values
  • Constructively participate in meetings, supervision and annual performance reviews as required
  • Maintain written and electronic records
  • Provide written reports to FaCS/ Children’s Court as required
  • Participate in an out of hours on call roster
About You
As a Case Manager, you will ideally have;
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work or Social Welfare related discipline are desirable
  • 2 years’ experience providing case management or casework to children, young people and families.
  • Experience providing practical support to vulnerable people/families
  • Experience working with CALD communities
  • Experience working with Aboriginal families
  • Experience in groupwork facilitation
  • Demonstrated understanding of the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD), and gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) communities
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues that impact homelessness
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues related to domestic violence, child protection and safety planning to address these issues
  • Knowledge of trauma informed practice

Salary: Base $71,136 to $87,961 per annum plus leave loading plus superannuation.  Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.

To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
