The Case Manager will:
- Deliver case management services to children, young people, and families in accordance with Program Guidelines and Barnardos policies, procedures, and practice guidelines.
- Monitor child protection concerns, consult, and act in accordance with the NSW Children and Young Person’s (Care and Protection) Act, Mandatory Reporter Guide and Barnardos Australia “Reporting Child Abuse” Policy
- Undertake assessments of families referred to the program utilising the Barnardos approved assessment tools.
- Maintain written and electronic records in accordance with MyStory and Barnardos Open file Policy.
- Provide written reports to DCJ/ Children’s Court as required.
About You
As a Case Manager, you will ideally have;
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Science, Community Services, or a related field.
- Demonstrated understanding of the needs and concerns of families and children within the Queanbeyan/Palerang LGA
- Knowledge of child protection issues with the capacity to identify when level of risk requires safety planning and statutory child protection intervention.
- 2 years’ experience working with children and young people and their family in a child protection context.
- Demonstrated experience in working with families with multiple, complex needs and that may be experiencing acute crisis.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Child Protection Legislation, Practice, and requirements within the New South Wales Child Protection System
- Current Full NSW Driver Licence
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues, external agencies, and Government Departments
