The Role
A permanent part-time (28 hours/4 days) Case Worker - Family Support is required for Youth & Family Support Service based at the Barnardos Centre in Queanbeyan, NSW.
  
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Case Worker – Family Support works with young people 12 to under 18 years or families with young people in this age range. The young people are experiencing vulnerabilities that, if not addressed, are or have the potential to adversely impact on their health, safety or wellbeing, or if parents their capacity to adequately protect and care for the young person. The young people may also be experiencing low to medium risk issues that if not addressed may escalate to the point where more intensive services are needed, or risk of significant harm is identified. This includes risk of homelessness. This position requires significant travel across a large rural region.

The Candidate
The successful Case Worker – Family Support will ideally have:
  • A relevant qualification in community development, youth work, mental health, drug and alcohol, social work, psychology, education, early childhood specialist and/or related behavioural sciences at a minimum certificate 4, diploma or degree level.
  • Demonstrated understanding of casework practice including assessment and preparation of case plans
  • Knowledge of child/youth development and parenting
  • Demonstrated experience of working with young people at risk and their families
  • Demonstrated experience of collaborating and working with other agencies to deliver services to young people and/or families
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while still being part of a team

Additional info
To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number).

You will also need to have a current NSW driver license and First Aid Certificate.

Salary
$64, 350 - $75, 235 pro rata (including FBT packaging) + Super.  Motor vehicle packaging optional.
