About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a Case Manager for a full-time permanent position in the Temporary Family Care team based in Marrickville, 2204

The Case Manager will be responsible for;
  • Build relationships and connections with children, young people, birth parents and carers that are strengths based, support capacity building and transparent.
  • TFC Caseworker interactions with children, young people and adults will be trauma-informed and trauma responsive recognising that these groups who may have experienced abuse, neglect, separation or loss.
  • Work with birth parents and extended family will be empathic, transparent and focused of building capacity.
  • Advocate with internal and external services to deliver interventions to children, young people, birth families and carers that will support and nurture their needs and develop their skills.
  • Develop, implement and review of plans for each child in care. Ensure plans reflects principles of permanency planning, Aboriginal placement principles and participation.
  • Planning, supervising and coaching birth parents and others in family time and other interactions to build parenting skills and capacity.
  
About You
As a Case Manager, you will ideally have;
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Social Welfare related discipline or substantial progress to gaining such qualification.
  • Knowledge of child development and childhood developmental trauma.
  • Knowledge of parenting support and capacity building
  • Demonstrated experience of working with children, young people and families in a child protection or OOHC context
  • Demonstrated experience of using electronic case management tool
  • Knowledge of the current NSW legislation and requirements regarding the care and protection of children. young people and, working with authorised carers
  • Demonstrated experience working with children, young people and families from a CALD, refuge or cultural background that has experienced significant displacement and trauma.
  • High level oral and written communication skills including computer literacy & report writing skills.
  • Capacity to be organized, agile and adaptable in a fast-paced work environment, including working to tight deadlines.

Salary: Base $71,136 to $87,961 per annum plus leave loading plus superannuation.  Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.

To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
