About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a full-time permanent Case Manager for the Permanent Care Program based in Penrith 2750

The Case Manager will be responsible for;
  • Undertaking the responsibilities of support to the carers who have children in placement conducting formal supervision sessions and providing support to these placements
  • Providing support to children in OOHC through regular home visiting, maintenance of adequate files maintenance of files in accordance with quality and compliance standards/expectations
  • Preparation of written case notes regarding home visits to carers and children
  • Preparation of written reports on carers and children in need of placement for presentation at approval and matching meetings
  • Preparatory work with children awaiting placement and ongoing support to children in permanent placement, including Life Story Work
  • Organisation of the introductory phase and final placement of the child needing care
  • Casework with the child’s birth family involving the development of case plans, co-ordination of family time arrangements between birth parents and their children and arrangement of formal reviews
  • Involvement in planning and policy development for the Permanent Care Program and the establishment of appropriate procedures for the operation of the service
  
About You
As a Case Manager, you will ideally have;
  • A tertiary level qualification in Social Work, Community Welfare, Psychology or a Diploma level qualification in a related discipline
  • Proven experience in working in a welfare setting, ideally with children and families, including provision of case management services preferably in an Out of Home Care setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in researching and producing accurate and timely reports and maintaining case notes including experience in dealing with issues of confidentiality
  • Demonstrated experience of working effectively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated experience of engaging respectfully with children and families
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of working with children with challenging behaviours
  • Knowledge of child protection issues
  • A current driver’s license and the ability to work in a flexible manner, including after hours, when required.

Salary: Base $77,592 to $83,178 per annum plus leave loading plus superannuation.  Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.

To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
