About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a full-time 12 month contract Case Manager for the Family Preservation Program based in Cowra 2794

The Case Manager will be responsible for;
  • Undertaking case management of families referred under the PSP Family Preservation program in accordance with the FACS service guidelines, framework and business rules;
  • Completing a comprehensive assessment of families referred to identify family needs, strengths and child safety priorities, develop and review specific action plans that will form the basis of case management and identify a clear rationale for use of brokerage funds.
  • Supporting families in their home environment by means of home visiting. This should occur approximately 2 to 3 times a week, unless agreed to otherwise by Program Manager.
  • Engaging clients in the development and review of safety plans that address concerns around the safety and welfare of the child/ren.
  • Identifying services that correspond with family needs and make supported referrals to appropriate services including other non- government and government agencies.
  • Supporting children’s and families’ to identify and maintain connection to extended family/kin, community and culture using family finding strategies
  • Supporting parents and/or carers to develop practical skills in parenting, home and life management skills by providing advice, developing appropriate community connections and role modeling strategies.
About You
As a Case Manager, you will ideally have;
  • University qualification or TAFE Diploma in social welfare or related field.
  • 3-5 years of casework experience with intensive family support and preservation services with children and families at risk of serious harm
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge and understanding of working in a manner that is culturally competent with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal staff, community and client
  • Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with families to assess, identify and achieve goals and address child safety concerns using electronic assessment and case management systems and a variety of intervention strategies.
  • Willingness to work flexible working hours to meet the needs of families as required.

Salary: Base $64,310 to $84,860 per annum plus leave loading plus superannuation.  Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.
