About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a Full Time Permanent Case Manager for the Kinship Care Program based at the Barnardos Centre in Warrawong 2502  

The Case Manager, will be responsible for;
  • Demonstrated experience in casework practice preferably in Out-of-Home Care.
  • Proven ability to relate to and work with children and young people with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
  • Understanding of Out-of-Home Care and Permanency Support policy, standards, and quality frameworks.
  • Be an integral team player in planning of tasks to further case plan goals of guardianship, including supporting collaboration between all stakeholders.
  • Experience in kin carer support; or the capacity to develop these skills.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills – competent in having difficult conversations.
  • Ability to interpret and implement organisational policy.
About You
As a Case Manager role, you will ideally have;
  • A degree (or tertiary qualification) in Social Work or a related area
  • Knowledge of issues surrounding abuse and neglect of children, and the impact of trauma on childhood development
  • Understanding of the case management requirements of the PSP/OOHC system
  • Understanding of the different support needs of relative and kinship carers to foster carers
  • Previous experience working in PSP/OOHC, child protection, or Intensive Family Support in a caseworker role
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to working with disadvantaged children and families in situations where additional support is needed
  • A current driver’s license and the ability to work in a flexible manner, including after hours, when required.

Salary: Base $64,310 to $84,860 plus leave loading plus superannuation.  Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.
