The Role
A full time, permanent Case Manager, Temporary Family Care is required for the Out of Home Care (OOHC) Program based in Auburn, Sydney.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Case Manager will effectively undertake the casework responsibilities of a TFC Caseworker and to ensure a high standard of service is provided to children and families. This includes rigorous case planning, case work and coordination.  There is a strong emphasis on age appropriate child participation in decision making, transparent practice and strong parental participation. Ensuring that casework and decision-making for children and families is evidence informed, strengths based and applies best practice rigor.

The Candidate
The successful Case Manager  will ideally have:
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Social Welfare related discipline
  • Knowledge of child development and developmental trauma.
  • Demonstrated experience of working with children, young people and families in a child protection or OOHC context.
  • Experience working with parents and adults to support them build their parenting skills and capacities.
  • Demonstrated experience of using electronic case management tool
  • Knowledge of the current NSW legislation and requirements regarding the care and protection of children. young people and, authorised carers
  • Experience working with children, young people and families who are Aboriginal or, are from a CALD or refuge background.
  • A strong commitment to working with vulnerable populations who have experienced abuse and neglect
  • High level oral and written communication skills including computer literacy & report writing skills.
  • Capacity to be organized, agile and adaptable in a fast-paced work environment, including working to tight deadlines.

Additional info
To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number).
You will also need to have a current NSW driver license and have the ability to participate in a 24 hour on call rotating roster.
$72, 912 - $88 847 base (including FBT packaging) + Super. Motor Vehicle packaging optional.
