About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a permanent full-time Case Manager for the Adoptions Program based at the Barnardos Centre in Penrith, Western Sydney.  Reporting to the Program Manager – Adoptions, the Case Manager, Adoptions will be responsible for;
  • Case managing children from 0-5 years of age who have been permanently separated from their birth families by the court
  • Supervision and support of prospective adoptive parents who have children in placement through regular home visits, advocacy, assistance to access relevant community services and other support as identified.
About You
To be successful in the Case Manager role, you will ideally have;
  • A Degree level qualification in Social Work, Community Welfare, Psychology or a Diploma level qualification in a related discipline
  • Proven experience in working in a welfare setting, ideally with children and families, including provision of case management services preferably in an Out of Home Care setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in researching and producing accurate and timely reports and maintaining case notes including experience in dealing with issues of confidentiality
  • A commitment to working with children and families in a non-judgemental and non-discriminatory manner
  • A current driver’s license and the ability to work in a flexible manner, including after hours, when required.
