Aboriginal Foster Care Recruitment and Assessment Officer

Area: Wollongong, Illawarra and South Coast

Salary: $78,000 - $85,000 per annum

Abrs are currently representing a Client in the recruitment of an Aboriginal Foster Care recruitment and Assessment Officer based in Wollongong. The Foster Care Recruitment and Assessment Officer will be responsible for working within the PSP model to recruit and assess suitable new Foster Carers, as well as coordinating reviews and ongoing training and development of existing Foster Carers.
  
The role will involve:
  • Carer recruitment and assessment – aligning with current regulatory requirements
  • Reviewing compliance of existing Carers
  • Provide ongoing training and development to Foster Carers
  • Working collaboratively with OOHC Caseworkers to ensure best outcomes for children living in care
  • Review and assess preliminary information for Carer applications
The requirements for this role include;
  • Cert IV, Diploma or degree in Community Service, Social Work or relevant
  • Step-by-Step accreditation is highly regarded
  • Previous experience in foster care recruitment is also highly desirable
  • Experience in Children Services, OOHC, Child Protection or relevant
  • Good written and verbal skills
  • Professional, well-presented and committed to supporting best outcomes for vulnerable children and families
