Tenancy Officer

Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 per annum

About our client;

A specialist homelessness service that provides support, information, referral and advocacy to homeless people or those at risk of homelessness.

Our client supports families and individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to either sustain their existing accommodation or attain and keep new tenancies through a combination of early intervention, case management, referral, advocacy and information.
  
This role will involve;

  • Developing trusted and professional relationships with clients of the service program to facilitate the tenancy management
  • Tenant vacant properties by conducting sign-ups for tenancies ensuring that all required paperwork and documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Support tenants to help them understand their rights and responsibilities as tenants
  • Carry out periodic property inspections and action any identified issues
  • Assist tenants to maintain their tenancies and manage any tenancy breaches promptly
  • Collect rent payments and manage arrears processes. Conduct tenant rent reviews regularly
  • Manage tasks related to property care
  • Monitor and address issues of anti-social behaviour and tenant disputes
  • Carry out condition reports and final inspections
  • Instigate and attend NCAT proceedings where necessary
  • Other tasks as required to support others in the delivery of their roles and the service as a whole
     - This role will be on a Part Time Fixed Term Contact (12 Months minimum)
     - Hours may vary from 21 - 24 hours per week

The requirements for this role include;
  • Certificate in Social Housing, Housing Practice or equivalent work history within the industry
  • Minimum 12 months tenancy management
  • Knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act and NCAT
  • Knowledge of the public and social housing sector
Additional Information 
  • A number of probity checks are required including holding a current working with children, Fully COVID 19 Vaccinated and undertaking a National police checks.
