Mental Health Clinician

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per annum

Abrs are excited to recruit for a New Service being offered to support community Mental Health and Wellbeing. This service will provide short to medium term support and helps people navigate and access their local services. Embedding lived experience into their service model, this provider will be opening their doors later this year. They are currently seeking candidates to make up their inaugural team working across the Nepean Blue Mountains region based in the Penrith office.
  
As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team inclusive of mental health clinicians, mental health registered nurses and allied health professionals.
  
This role will involve:
  • Engage consumers and develop trusting and professional relationships
  • Use a strengths-based approach to complete a comprehensive mental health assessment.
  • Provide evidence based and informed care from a holistic approach
  • Work within a holistic framework considering the needs of consumers, family, carers and other members of the community in order to ensure tangible outcomes
  • Provide clinical assessments and brief interventions for adults accessing the Centre
  • Ensure records management obligations are met, this includes the retention of hardcopy and/or electronic records and ensuring files are accurate and kept up-to-date.
Requirements for the role include:
  • Relevant qualifications such as Social Work, Therapy, Psychology, Counselling.
  • relevant registrations with industry body, AHPRA/AASW etc 
  • extensive knowledge and experience delivering supports and evidence-based interventions to groups such as: children & young people, family therapy, adults, older people, people struggling with addiction and those experiencing family or relationship domestic violence.
Additional Information 
  • A number of probity checks are required including holding a current working with children and undertaking a National police checks.
