About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a Communications Coordinator for a full-time 12 Month Contract  for the Engagement & Giving Program based in Ultimo 2007 

The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for;
  • Produce regular communications including sourcing, creating, developing, preparing and adding to content via social media for our donors and community
  • Working alongside the fundraising team in communicating the journey of our campaigns
  • Providing support to Fundraising Team in developing new content relating to their area of work, e.g. community fundraising, awareness campaigns, fundraising campaigns, media stories
  • Implementing high quality awareness campaigns across the year, to raise community awareness of Barnardos and child protection issues, and to deliver key messages, developed by the Head of Communications and Executive Manager
  
About You
As a Communications Coordinatoryou will ideally have;
  • Minimum qualification - degree in communications, journalism or public relations
  • Experience in making information accessible to a wide range of audiences using multiple communication methods and platforms, particularly e-communications and social media platforms
  • Self-motivation and be able to demonstrate initiative regarding Barnardos vision and support of the Engagement and Giving portfolio
  • A flexible nature, adaptability and the ability to think on their feet
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong editing, proofreading and copywriting skills
  • Strong time management skills with proven ability to manage several projects at once, to prioritise work and to work effectively to meet tight timeframes
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and an ability to establish systems for the smooth and effective operation of an office environment
  • Computer literate with demonstrated ability in generic computer packages such as Microsoft Office and some familiarity with the internet, databases and social networking platforms

Salary: Base $76,429 per annum plus leave loading plus superannuation.  Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.

To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
