About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a full-time permanent Head of Business Applications based at Barnardos Head Office in Ultimo, 2007

This role offers a hybrid working model of office and remote based work.

The Head of Business Applications will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing provision of effective and secure software products to the organisation that address the organisations needs and deliver against its strategic goals.
This includes management over the:
  • Enhancement, replacement, decommissioning, or upgrade of existing applications used by Barnardos, either built inhouse, SaaS based, or 3rd party applications hosted on Barnardos infrastructure, in the provision of its front-line services or back-office functions.
  • Introduction of new products within Barnardos, from time to time, that are required to address a business need in line with the organisation’s strategic directions.
  • Research undertaken with business area representatives in Barnardos to identify new software product needs, or where use of software products would lead to improvements in business performance and security.
  • Rectification of errors in developed, or supported, products.
  • Creation of standards and processes controlling software and new product implementations and support services, ensuring new service compliance with Barnardos policy and standards.
  • Creation and maintenance of in-depth knowledge and documentation of all existing applications used across the organisation.
  • Development of collaborative partnerships with key line of business stakeholders, application owners, support vendors and subject matter experts.
  • Direct line management responsibility of a team of technical and process professionals.
  
About You
As the Head of Business Applicationsyou will ideally have;
  • Tertiary degree qualification in computer science, project management or equivalent course
  • 3+ years as application manager. Ability to deliver resources and tasks to ensure delivery of multiple concurrent projects on time, budget and to agreed scope.
  • 3+ years as application development team leader or equivalent line management experience of a software technology team.
  • Prince2 or Agile project management certification
  • Azure Devops knowledge
  • Experienced in usage of project frameworks, template, and process
  • Experienced in program delivery reporting down to an individual application level
  • Experienced in supporting a large number of lines of business applications and leading maximization efforts of applications use within a complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in working across all levels of business through to executive level
