The Data Engineer will be responsible for;
- Design, create, test, deploy and maintain integrated data pipelines that deliver curated, value-added data assets.
- Design relational data tables to serve current data needs and pre-empt future use cases.
- Optimize table structures for scale, performance, and high frequency read/writes.
- Design, implement and maintain ESB or ESB like API integrations supporting optimised transactional data flows.
- Ensure developed API and code is stored and maintained in the organisations GIT repository.
- Develop frameworks, process and modules supporting development of ESB and API including management of re-usable code snippets.
- Lead the creation of standards, procedures, design patterns and technical frameworks within areas of the Enterprise Data Management and other portions of the data ecosystem.
- Work with 3rd party data providers to ensure long term consistency and integrity of shared datasets.
- Document analysis, findings and recommendations in a structured manner that is easily understood by a broad audience.
About You
As a Data Engineer you will ideally have;
- University Post Graduate Degree (Computer Science/Information Systems /Math’s /Stats /Business Science /Actuarial).
- PCAP, PCPP (1&2) or CEPP certifications in Python and SQL.
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer working on both transactional and analytical data pipelines and datasets.
- Proven experience in design, development, and implementation of complex data architectures.
- Ability to apply statistical and other research methods into user centric design thinking.
- Demonstrated success in designing, developing, implementing, testing, and operating large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data flows/pipelines, structures, and other purpose-built data stores for transactional, analytical, reporting, machine learning, and data science with low technical debt.
