We are seeking a newly qualified and experienced Speech Pathologist to work in the disability sector servicing a mixed caseload of participants. This role will offer the opportunity to provide Speech Therapy services to children and adults accessing the service and requires you to promote positive mental, physical and emotional health, and social and economic participation. You will join a well-established multidisciplinary team, with a strong commitment to support children and adults to achieve the best outcomes.
  
You will be supported and undertake a 8 week training program that will set you up with the tools you need to success, shadowing all disciplines, generous vehicle options, Flexible working options and access to career development opportunities.
  
Responsibilities of the role:
  • Take responsibility for a delegated caseload and use a multi-disciplinary approach to assists clients to meet their needs, goals, objectives and aspirations
  • Adopt a Person-Centred Approach with all client and stakeholder interactions
  • Assess, plan and coordinate the delivery of therapy services to children and adults with physical, intellectual and/or psychosocial disabilities
  • The ability to decide which therapy approaches will meet the person’s needs: remediation, rehabilitation, enablement, prevention, and/or early intervention
  • The skill to tailor services to maximise outcomes; considering the person’s family and social life, everyday activities and routines
  
The requirements for this role include:
  • Degree qualified in Speech Pathology – applications from newly qualified therapists are welcomed
  • Current, unrestricted registration with SPA
  • unrestricted drivers licence 
  • Experience in undertaking evidenced based clinical assessments and providing therapeutic interventions to meet client needs
  • Experience in a community health and/or disability services environment with a focus on people with complex care needs is desirable
  • Have pride in your work and a passion for working with clients, colleagues, families and others to find innovative and practical solutions that allow clients to realise their human potential

Additional Information 
  • A number of probity checks are required including holding a current working with children and undertaking a National police checks.
