Team Leader - Homelessness

Location: Regional NSW
Area: Newcastle, Maitland & Hunter
Worktype: Full Time
Salary: $95,000 - $105,000 per annum

Our Client is currently recruiting for an experienced Team Leader who specialises in Homelessness and Domestic and Family Violence to join their team based in Maitland NSW.
  
This role will involve;

  • Lead the Intake and Outreach Programs using best practice leadership models.
  • Set priorities and manage the workloads of the Intake and Outreach teams.
  • Provide day to day supervision, and coordination of the Intake and Outreach teams.
  • Ensure the provision of intake, assessment and rapid response to people experiencing Domestic Violence and/or homelessness utilising client centred, and trauma informed approached.
  •  Ensure the provision of client centred case management to people experiencing domestic violence and/or homelessness.
  • Work under limited supervision and have the ability to effectively prioritise and organise tasks to meet required deadlines, and the workflow of the intake team.
  • Decision making in respect of caseloads and case allocation within the Intake Team and the Outreach Team, in conjunction with the Program manager (SHS).
  • Coordinate and respond to the practical day to day procedures, and issues arising within the Outreach Support Program.
  • Lead the Intake and Outreach Programs using best practice leadership models.
  • Set priorities and manage the workloads of the Intake and Outreach teams.
  • Provide day to day supervision, and coordination of the Intake and Outreach teams.
The requirements for this role include;
  • High level of communication skills using all mediums and including the ability to negotiate, influence and resolve conflict.
  • Participation in work-related meetings, conferences and training which may require overnight stays.
  • Represent the SHS team at public forums, and the ability to present to large groups of people.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and understanding of current leadership models.
  • The ability to recruit, train, supervise and support the Intake and Outreach teams.
  • High level of emotional maturity, including respectful and ethical behaviour
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with Clients in crisis and provide appropriate trauma informed support.
  • Ability to manage, motivate and coordinate paid and unpaid staff.
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in the domestic violence and homelessness sector/or Community Services sector.
  • Tertiary qualification in Management, minimum diploma level.
  • Current driver’s license.

Additional Information 
  • A number of probity checks are required including holding a current working with children, COVID 19 vaccination evidence and undertaking a National police checks.
