Salary: $50 - $54 per hour

Our client is currently looking for a Social Worker to join a Defence Social work team based in Wagga Wagga. You will provide support for Defence personnel and their families who are requiring assistance for a range of issues over the phone and via video platforms.

The role is Wagga with some travel to the ACT and has a high degree of complexity and issues which need assistance. The role involves:
  • Work with Defence members and their families face to face, who are requiring assistance for a range of needs such as mental health, domestic violence, grief and loss.
  • Carry out a variety of welfare and risk assessments
  • Produce complex reports requiring high attention to detail.
  • Refer clients to further services if required
  • Work within a multidisciplinary to ensure Defence members and their families needs are met 
  • Work efficiently across a varied case load to ensure that reports are created in submitted in line with Defence policy & procedures
In order to be considered for this role you will;
  • be degree or masters qualified in Social Work
  • Minimum 2 years post graduate experience in a social work related position
  • have demonstrated social work and risk assessment skills
  • possess excellent communication skills and demonstrated report writing skills.
  • Be able to work Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week
  • be an Australia Citizen

  • This is a 12 month contract position 
  • Work with an experience Social Work Manager 
  • Knowledge of Defence is not essential but is valued 
  • Travel to Canberra will be covered by Defence
  • You will receive a high level of guidance from a very experienced manager and team but autonomy in this role is a must.
