Intake Case Manager Homelessness Services (SHS)

Salary: $84,864 - $84,864 per annum

Our Client, a leading Domestic Violence & Homelessness support service,  is currently recruiting for an experienced Homelessness Case Manager to join their team based in The Hunter Region.

This role will involve;
Provide person centred, trauma informed responses to SHS service requests.
  • Contacting clients referred to SHS in a timely manner and planning to address a client’s immediate needs.
  • Provide information, advice, advocacy, referrals, strategies and interventions to people in crisis and/or who are experiencing homelessness, at risk of homelessness and/or domestic violence.
  • Case Managers at this level will be required to provide expert program related advice.
  • Triage and prioritise incoming referrals and maintain intake assessment and case management waitlists.
  • Participate as a team member in both the work of the SHS team and a member of the broader team
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key partners including the NSW Dept Communities and Justice, Community Housing Providers, Neighbourhood and Family Support Services, and referral agencies.

The requirements for this role include;
  • Tertiary qualification in social science or related field. Minimum Diploma level 
  • Experience working in specialist homelessness and/or specialist domestic violence community organisations 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and work organisation skills 
  • Demonstrated skills as a 'best practice' case manager 
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate group work activities
  • Hold a current NSW Drivers License 
Additional Information 
  • A number of probity checks are required including holding a current working with children and undertaking a National police checks.
