About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a part time (21 hours / 3 days per week) 12 month contract Administration Support for the Carer Support Team based in Bruce 2617

The Administration Support, will be responsible for;
  • Maintaining the Carer files as per established standards. This includes ensuring all essential documents are filed, new carer files are prepared and information is updated as required.
  • Keeping a record of when household reviews and home safety checks are due and alerting relevant workers for their timely completion.
  • Keeping a record of when police checks and other background checks are due. Filling out the necessary forms and mailing them to carers for signature. Processing and recording the checks in electronic systems.
  • Assisting with the logistics and the preparation of materials for caregiver network events, carer support groups and training events. Record training attended on carer files.
  • Answering the phone when required and alert relevant workers for follow up. To keep a record of conversations with carers.
  • Receiving and file casenotes from Carer Support Workers. The “main issues discussed” and “follow up actions” to be recorded in the database’s “Carer Support Contact Sheet” form.
  • Participating in monthly supervision meetings with the program Manager.
About You
As a Administration Support you will ideally have;
  • Understanding of the issues related to working with volunteer carers.
  • Ability to provide support services in complex situations.
  • Analytical and report writing skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain data systems
  • Demonstrated communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills and the ability to work as part of a small team in a dynamic environment.
  • Computer skills in a Windows environment and use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and other relevant software applications.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, including knowledge of the Children and Young Person’s Act, 2008(ACT).
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with relevant government and non-government services.
  • Experience in MailChimp (Desirable)

Salary: Base $57,896 to $67,268 (pro rata) per annum plus leave loading plus superannuation.  Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.

To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
