About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a full-time permanent Finance Business Partner for the Finance & Corporate Team based in Ultimo, 2007

The Finance Business Partner will be responsible for;
  • Building strong Business Partnering relationships with key stakeholders, namely the Executive Team and Management Team.
  • Participation in the month-end financial reporting process.
  • Lead proactive meetings with stakeholders in the analysis of trends and anomalies in monthly results, especially when compared to budgets.
  • Preparation of the organisational budget and reforecast, liaising with managers and managing the timeline to ensure timely completion.
  • Perform general financial analysis and providing insights to the business to improve performance and management of budgets.
  • Financial modelling for key projects as they arise and budget preparation for tenders.
  • Updating and continuous improvement of existing financial model templates.
  • Management and administration of all the government and non-government grants, as well as tied funding provided by Corporate and Trust donors.
  • Prepare and lodge interim and annual Income & Expenditure acquittals for all Government grants and Corporate donors.
  • Manage Barnardos’ Debtors ledger, ensuring overdue invoices are kept to a minimum, as per the Debtors Management Procedure.
  • Managing the documentation of key processes and providing input to improve key financial processes.
  • Participation in ad-hoc projects based on the strategic initiatives of the Corporate Services Team.
  • Undertake other duties as required by the Commercial Manager and the Executive Leader Finance & Corporate.  
About You
As a Finance Business Partner, you will ideally have;
  • 5+ years of accounting / commercial experience in a similar role.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with a postgraduate qualification of CA/CPA preferred but not required.
  • Month-end and management accounting experience advantageous.
  • Demonstrated high-level understanding of budgeting process.
  • Financial acumen with the ability to act as an effective business partner to financial and operational staff.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with finance and non-finance staff.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence Applications, (Adaptive insights highly advantageous).
  • Financial modelling experience basic/intermediate.
  • Intermediate/advanced excel proficiency.
  • Ability to understand, manage and manipulate data.
  • Proven ability in utilising and understanding modelling for analytical purposes.
  • Demonstrated skills in networking and building collaborative partnerships across a range of sectors and various stakeholder.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.

Salary: Base $100,000 per annum plus leave loading plus superannuation.  Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free.
